About Mrs. Ambrose

Philosophy

It is my belief that the energy, enthusiasm, and high expectations that I bring to the classroom everyday sets the stage for success. The classroom must be a safe, respectful, and caring environment for children and parents. Through collaboration with other teachers and parents, the correct learning foundation is built. Children are naturally curious; providing hands on experiences allows students to construct knowledge at a higher level. Children have their own learning style; discovering ways to assist the learning process so that every child is empowered to be an independent problem solver will foster life long learners.

Experience

Here is a little bit about me.  This is my 31 year as an educator.  After graduating from UNC and having my first child, I decided to open a licensed daycare; I enjoyed that for 9 years, while my four children were young . Then, I opened a private preschool in Littleton and taught many children for 8 years, prior to moving to Fairplay.  In 2002, my husband Pete and I moved our family to  Indian Mountain.  I worked as a teacher in the preschool for one year.  In 2003, I began teaching 3rd grade at ETE, my focus was math.  I love math!  This is my 3rd year as a kindergarten teacher at ETE! I look forward to learning through the eyes of the little ones again.

My Family

This is our growing family!  We have a daughter and three sons.  The boys are all SPHS graduates.  The three oldest are married. Our daughter, Beth and son-in-law, Jon have blessed us with four beautiful granddaughters.  Our son Patrick and his wife Sarah just welcomed baby Jane at Christmas time.  Our oldest son, Nick and  his wife, Megan had their first baby, Michael Brandon, on April 6. Our youngest son, Pete graduated from Benedictine College, in Atchison, KS and has returned to Colorado for work. We are so happy  that all our children and grandchildren are in Colorado.
